Alt-J

Back in September, I was mega organised and bough Oli Alt-J tickets for his Christmas present. I'm so glad that I booked them that early as they soon after won the Mercury Prize and ticket sales went nuts and they totally sold out on their tour. I knew friends who were trying to buy tickets off people for £40! Stupid.
So, after waiting months and months the 8th May finally came around and we headed down the O2 Academy Newcastle to go see them. The were incredible, their sound live is just so unique - sometimes you find that bands who have a really different sound to them sound rubbish live because it's all just produced in the studios. Alt-j really held their own though and looked so comfortable up on stage. The only issue was that they allowed in people of all ages, so even though we had a really good spot in the middle about a 3rd of the way back, we got stuck behind a group of drunk an rowdy 15 year olds who started to actually ruin it for us. We felt like such oldies moaning about the 'rowdy youth' but they really were being so annoying! We moved in the end though and bumped into a load of friends who were also there so it wasn't too bad in the end.

I 100% recommend going to go see them. I'm once again obsessed with them and have their album on repeat...
